For us now, eye fatigue is common. Because the burden on our eyes is getting heavier, we face various electronic screens for a long time, coupled with high-density work tasks, lack of rest time, it is very prone to symptoms such as dry eyes and fatigue.

Why do our eyes feel tired?

why do our eyes feel tired

1. Eye refractive abnormality. When suffering from hyperopia, myopia, and astigmatism, the eyes need to use a lot of accommodation when looking far and near, making the eyes overworked.

2. As we age, the function of the eyes deteriorates, which can also cause eye discomfort.

3. Eye diseases. Unclear vision caused by corneal clouding and other eye diseases can also easily cause eye fatigue.

4. If you lack exercise, have irregular schedules and diet are also prone to eye fatigue.

5. Living environment factors, such as insufficient or too strong light, uneven or flickering light source distribution.

6. Working in front of the computer for a long time, or over-reliance on mobile phones, pads, monitors, and other digital devices.

How to effectively relieve eye fatigue?

1.Develop good living habits

① When using your eyes for a long time, you should maintain a correct sitting posture. Try to close your eyes every 0.5 to 1 hour to rest or look into the distance for five minutes, and consciously increase the number of blinks to prevent dry eyes.

② Pay attention to a balanced diet, vitamin A can maintain normal visual function, vitamin C, vitamin E, etc. can delay the aging of eyeball function.

③ Massage to relieve eye fatigue, and moderate massage can relieve eye pressure and give proper rest to the muscle tissue around the eyes. People who use more eyes at close range should lightly close their eyes, rest for 5 minutes every 1 to 2 hours, or use your middle finger to gently press the eyeball, follow the hemisphere contour, and gently massage.

2.Get plenty of outdoor exercise

get plenty of outdoor exercise

Generally speaking, we feel eye fatigue, usually because of staring at the electronic screen for a long time. In this case, the eyes themselves can be adjusted and there is no need to use eye drops. The best way is to adjust the time of work and rest.

Adhere to outdoor activities for 2 hours a day, so that your eyes are often bathed in natural light, which can effectively relieve eye fatigue. Because the pupil will become smaller insufficient natural light, which can make the image more clear. At the same time, when engaging in outdoor sports such as football, basketball, and skipping rope, the eyes prefer “long-distance” and “visual chasing”, and the adjustment of the eyeball is better when the focus is switched back and forth.

3. Use electronic equipment reasonably

use electronic equipment reasonably

In modern times, we have developed the habit of relying on electronic products for a long time. If you can improve from the source, you may be able to find a balance under long-term your eyes use. Generally, the main reasons for the eye injury of the display are the hardware attributes of the electronic device itself, such as blue light and strobe; the second is the adaptation degree of the screen and the ambient light, and the brightness difference between the surrounding environment and the display is too large, which will increase the burden on the eyes, cause dry eyes and fatigue, the third is that the distance between the eyes and the screen is too close.

①Adjust screen brightness

The North American Illumination Association recommends that the contrast between ambient light and the light intensity of the work area should not exceed 1:3. If the light source of the screen is excessive, it will cause dazzling, and in severe cases, it will cause transient blindness. When we use the monitor daily, we often encounter the situation that the screen is too bright, then we should manually adjust the brightness of the screen.

②Reduce blue light stimulation

Blue light is ubiquitous in daily life. The irradiation of blue light can cause damage to retinal cells, resulting in decreased vision or even loss of vision. Among them, short-wave blue light with a wavelength between 400-480 nanometers is the most harmful to the retina. If the eyes are exposed to blue light for a long time, problems such as macular degeneration may occur, which seriously threatens eye health. Therefore, having a low blue light display is a good choice.

③Reduce stroboscopic

When the LED display adjusts the brightness, its backlight controller will produce a high-frequency flicker that is invisible to the human eye, causing eye fatigue and headaches. The key to whether the display is strobe is its dimming technology. The dimming technology of the display is mainly divided into PWM dimming technology and DC direct current dimming technology. At present, the mainstream dimming technology is changing from PWM to DC direct current dimming, thereby reducing the harm of strobe to the eyes.

④Keep a proper distance and height from the computer screen

A good sitting posture is very important to ensure the proper distance and height between the computer and the eyes, which directly affects the safety and hygiene of the eyes. Under normal circumstances, we need to keep the monitor below the front line of sight, in a natural and comfortable direction, and the distance should be kept at about 60 cm. Many people’s monitors like to be placed in the front left, which is easy to squint, and many people like to lie in front of the computer, very close to the monitor, which greatly increases the damage to the eyes.
